Discover the Bros’ Story

The story of Smash Lab

Long before Burger Bros Smash Lab had a logo, a menu, or a restaurant, it had experiments.

Back in the early 1980s, two brothers turned an ordinary family kitchen into something that looked more like a science laboratory than a place to cook dinner. While most kids were riding bikes, climbing trees, and playing games outside until the streetlights came on, these two were busy mixing sauces, stacking impossible burgers, and testing combinations nobody else would have dared to try.

They didn’t know it then, but they were building the foundation for Smash Lab.

The older brother became obsessed with one thing: flavor intensity. He chased what he called the “flavor explosion” — that perfect moment when every ingredient hits at once and your brain can’t decide which flavor is winning because they all are. Smoky. Salty. Sweet. Crunchy. Savory. Tangy. The bigger and bolder the flavor profile became, the happier he was.

Every burger became an experiment in balance and overload at the same time.

The younger brother had a completely different philosophy. He believed rules were made to be challenged. If someone said two ingredients shouldn’t go together, that was exactly why he wanted to try them. Peanut butter on burgers. Pepper jelly. Sweet heat combinations. Crunchy toppings. Sauces mixed with ingredients nobody expected. And when he found something that actually worked, he immediately started asking one question: “What happens if we make it hotter?”

For him, flavor wasn’t enough. The food had to create a reaction. That’s when the peppers came out. Hot sauces. Jalapeños. Spices. Experimental combinations that made people sweat, laugh, and immediately reach for another bite anyway.

Some experiments failed spectacularly. Some combinations were downright questionable. But every creation got tested, finished, analyzed, and talked about. Nothing was wasted. Because in the lab, every result mattered.

As the brothers grew up, the experiments expanded beyond the kitchen.

This was before social media, before smartphones, before endless scrolling. Entertainment meant movement. Competition. Interaction. Basketball in the driveway. Racing through neighborhoods. Arcade games that pulled crowds around them. Air hockey battles that turned into tournaments. Physical games where the energy in the room became part of the experience.

The brothers learned something important early in life:

Motion creates emotion.

The more people moved, competed, laughed, and interacted together, the stronger the memory became. It wasn’t about sitting quietly staring at a screen. It was about energy. Noise. Reactions. Friendly competition. Shared moments.

That philosophy eventually became just as important as the food itself.

Years later, when the idea for Burger Bros Smash Lab finally came together, it became clear this could never be just another burger restaurant.

It had to become a full experience.

The food would represent the flavor experiments from the brothers’ childhood kitchen laboratory. The arcade and interactive games would recreate the movement, competition, and energy they grew up loving. Every part of the environment would encourage people to get up, engage, compete, laugh, and create memories together.

That’s why Smash Lab isn’t built around passive entertainment.

It’s built around experiences that create reactions.

Games that pull crowds.
Basketball competitions.
Air hockey battles.
Motion-driven attractions.
Interactive fun that is just as entertaining to watch as it is to play.

And of course, burgers designed to deliver maximum flavor impact.

Every burger at Smash Lab reflects the spirit of those early experiments:
Bold flavor combinations.
Unexpected toppings.
Layered textures.
Sweet and spicy collisions.
Crispy edges.
Melty cheese.
Messy bites.
Flavor overload.

Some burgers are carefully engineered for balance. Others feel like controlled chaos. All of them are built to make an impression.

Today, Burger Bros Smash Lab represents decades of experimentation, creativity, competition, and fun. What started in a small kitchen during the early 1980s evolved into a place where people of all ages can gather together, put their phones down, compete, laugh, eat incredible burgers, and create real experiences with each other again.

The lab never really stopped operating. It just got bigger. Welcome to Burger Bros Smash Lab.

Where flavor meets fire.
Where motion creates emotion.
And where every guest becomes part of the experiment.
